According to a report from Page Six, the tattoo artist responsible for Ed Sheeran’s body art recently came out to criticize his own art. Kevin Paul, the singer-songwriter’s artist, claimed that the body art was “s**t,” and that it was even scaring off some of his other potential clients.

Kevin has agreed with the critics of the body art who claim that much of the images almost look childish. Kevin has actually tattooed Ed more than 40 times. Speaking with The Daily Mirror, Paul stated to the outlet that he and Ed joke around all of the time about how they are “s**t.”

Paul claimed, however, that Ed doesn’t mind because every little piece of body art inked on to his body has a very personal meaning to him.

Despite his negative attitude toward past body art on the pop-star, Paul – who has also inked stars like Rihanna, Cara Delevinge, and Harry Styles, – claims that working with Ed has been the best thing to happen to him – but also the worst.

The tattoo artist claimed that he went from doing all kinds of 3D work and even winning several awards, however, due to Ed’s personal taste, he had to start tattooing images of iconic cartoons including Pingu The Penguin as well as gingerbread men.

Kevin went on to say that everyone thought he was “s**t,” but really his art is top-notch. Moreover, Paul stated that some of the other pieces on his body are done by the friend of his manager, and Kevin is often blamed for them.

Kevin went on to say that despite the minor hiccups here and there, working with Ed has been one of the best things to ever happen to his life, so there are no hard feelings. Recently, Ed Sheeran announced he was taking a brief hiatus from music.

While the reason for his break isn’t entirely clear, some industry insiders claim the litany of lawsuits the singer is currently facing off against are playing a key role in his stress levels, in addition to his neverending touring schedule.
