Meghan Markle and Thomas Markle haven’t been connected in years. Page Six recently reported that it’s been two years since the father-daughter combination has spoken, and reportedly, the Suits actress has laid blame on The Daily Mail.

Currently, the Duchess of Sussex is in the middle of a heated legal battle with Associated Newspapers, the organization that owns The Daily Mail. The actress was livid when she discovered that her handwritten letter was published in The Daily Mail.

Meghan wrote the emotional letter to her father, Thomas, in August of 2018, approximately three months after he chose to bow out of her wedding to Prince Harry. Thomas was supposed to walk her down the aisle but the plan never came to fruition.

In London’s High Court, Megan and her legal team claimed she was deeply upset by the newspaper’s reporting, which they stated is guilty of misrepresenting her in a deleterious way. Her legal team accused them of representing her in a “false and damaging light.”

Moreover, the Suits actress also accused the British newspaper company of “harassing” Thomas. Reportedly, Meghan and Prince Harry attended the virtual court hearing from their LA home around 4:00 am.

Meghan and her husband, Harry, have claimed in the past that the British media has tried very hard to smear Meghan’s name. They repeated this claim in the pre-trial hearing, where they said the organization had an “obvious agenda” to make her look as bad as possible.

Followers of Meghan and Prince Harry’s tumultuous past with the media know Thomas was supposed to walk her down the aisle, however, just a few days before the wedding, he was caught faking paparazzi photos and subsequently suffered a heart attack.

Furthermore, Meghan accused the corporation of misrepresenting the letter in such a way as to “purposely mislead” readers of the outlet. Associated Newspapers has denied this allegation.

Today, on Friday, Meghan accused The Daily Mail of separating her and her father, Thomas, as a consequence of their sensationalist and purportedly false reporting.

In their counterargument, Associated Newspaper said there was no way she’d know how Thomas felt about the “harassment,” considering she hasn’t spoken with her father in several years.
