Sterling K. Brown is an American actor. His roles include the series Army Wives, The People v. O. J. Sterling is the son of Aralean Banks and Sterling Brown. He was raised in Olivette, a suburb of St. Louis. He is married to actress Ryan Michelle Bathe, with whom he has two children.

Sterling is a fourth cousin of political activist, news commentator, author, and attorney Van Jones. Sterling’s maternal great-great-great-grandparents, Columbus Green and Julia, were also Van’s paternal great-great-great-grandparents.

Sterling’s paternal grandfather was Sterling Brown (the son of John Brown and Milton Williams). Sterling’s grandfather Sterling was born in Mississippi.
